The best show of my life was the Dirty Three playing the Lowlands Festival in Holland in 1996. Twelve years and hundreds of shows later, I have never seen anything like the emotional rawness of what I witnessed there, except on this spectacular record. I really hope to see the Dirty Three play again, this time somewhere here, in New England.
