The Dirty Three will forever remain at the front on the outer arm of unique, untouchable brilliance...from my first exposure at the Pica Cafe in '95 (i think) through to last years Fremantle's Fly By Night, they have provided me with both unique and surreal experiences...i've dragged countless numbers of unwilling girlfriends or mates to the experience who have either collapsed in wonder or run from the venue screaming - either way a success, depending on the victim...when i took this disc to my seculded shack in the distant pocket of Seabird, WA, cranked up on Jamesons and various other devices...in the sticky, unconfortable heat under the humidity of those heavy clouds, every glittering feeling from those concerts flushed back...it is rare that a live album is worth listening too, but with The Dirty Three you either love them or don't care, and to love them is to feel them and when you listen to this, you'll rememeber...
