ron pistos real world, 1983

Originally released in 1983, Ron Pistos Real World has long been a highly sought after rare record. Its a punk rock classic in the tradition of hard riffs and horns (a la early Saints and the Birthday Party) and features Mick TurnerDirty Three) in one of his most notable early guitar recordings.

This release has two bonus tracks from the same period. The original release of Ron Pistos Real World was reviewed in Forced Exposure #7/8 in Summer 1985 by Byron Coley:"…RP’sRW apparently came out a coupla years ago, but I never heard of it before so I figured that you never did either. But y’oughta cause it’s a tasty fug of a log. Usin’ the sorta arrangements & instrumental logic you’d arrive at if FUNHOUSE were the one object that you’d determined t’ be solid in the whole universe, the Fungus Brains offer up a mighty attractive platter. The gtrs lunge into horrible topplin’ repeato riffs that smash yr sense-pecker as flat as any tuna melt horns ha-ronk, rhythms konk each others noggins & Geoff Marks’ echoed croak wails that ya should give him some sweets ’cause now he’s gonna gobble yr infant. Wow."
